Little Ibby in DetailRecently we've received more details of the little fella. We were a bit worried about him, we hadn't received confirmation and no credit cards had been debited. But in the mail the other day - Jackpot! - Worldvision had delivered the goods. One sponsorship pack, chock full o Ibby. Irahim's details. Name: Ibrahim (Surname withheld, don't want to violate the young
fella's privacy) Ibrahim lives in a rural area. His father is a day labourer and does not have regular work, so it has been a constant struggle for him to provide the necessities of life for his family. His mother is a housewife. Your sponsorship is an important and continuing part of assistance to help this boy and his family attain self reliance, for this is the development in which World Vision is invovled. I'm trying not to be synical and hoping the above text isn't just a cut and paste job sent out to families all around the world. Perhaps if his dad finds steady work we won't need to sponsor him anymore? But I think what it boils down to is that we're sponsoring a community and they're giving us a face to look at so we feel like we're making a difference, and that's cool. We're wrapped that Ibrahim's favourite subject at school is writing. All indications are that we should get a gaggle of letters from him, just as soon as we write one of our own to him. Please post your messages in the forum or email us at ibrahim@ahousenearyou.com he wants to hear from you... he'll be sad if he only gets messages from us. Imagine that. |
